Fossilized spores somehow manged to survive for years on the surface of Mars. These spores were found in rock samples brought back for research. These little spores quickly broke out of the lab and began irritatingly lodging itself everywhere.

From the bottom of your shower to the outter hull of the space station. This Fungi is highly pigmented which allows it to withstand a wide variety of making. We here at the lab can't promise allowing thing Fungi into your home won't cause catastrophic consequences such as consuming  the rest of your stash.
